Uiseong County Holds Wildfire Prevention Agencies Inspection Meeting

Cooperation for Zero Wildfires
Comprehensive Reinforcement of Disaster Response System

Uiseong County held a "Wildfire Prevention Measures Related Organizations Inspection Meeting" on October 14 in the county government disaster situation room, with more than 20 officials from related agencies such as the fire department, military units, and police in attendance. During the meeting, the county completely reorganized its wildfire prevention and response system.

Uiseong County Holds Wildfire Prevention Agencies Inspection Meeting Kim Jusu, the governor of Uiseong County, is addressing the topic at the 2025 Wildfire Prevention Measures Related Organizations Inspection Meeting.

This meeting was held in preparation for the wildfire caution period, which runs from autumn 2025 to spring 2026. Drawing lessons from the wildfire damage that occurred in March, the goal was to develop practical response strategies to achieve "zero wildfires."

The meeting focused on a prevention-oriented management system to block wildfires in advance, as well as strengthening cooperation among related agencies and establishing plans for rapid resource deployment.

In particular, to secure the golden time for initial wildfire suppression, the meeting included a detailed review of military personnel support and the joint response manual for the fire department and police.

The Uiseong County Wildfire Response Headquarters plans to operate a real-time information sharing system from the disaster warning stage through to the end of the situation, and to establish an "integrated cooperation platform" to maximize on-site response capabilities. Through this, the county aims to systematically manage the entire process from prevention to suppression and recovery.

Kim Jusu, the governor of Uiseong County, stated, "This inspection meeting has become an opportunity to substantially strengthen the entire disaster response process, going beyond simple prevention," and added, "We will do our utmost to achieve zero wildfire damage through swift cooperation among related agencies and full mobilization of available resources."

The wildfire prevention measures promoted by the county focus on the "complete connection between administration and on-site response."

The proactive prevention and collaboration-centered response system is attracting attention as a disaster management model that local governments should pursue.
