Doosan Tesna, a semiconductor testing specialist acquired by Doosan in 2022, is making a large-scale investment in new facilities. The company has decided to introduce semiconductor testing equipment worth approximately 171.4 billion won to respond to increasing demand for semiconductor testing.

Doosan Tesna Invests 171.4 Billion Won in Semiconductor Testing Equipment

On October 15, Doosan Tesna announced through a board resolution that it will acquire testing equipment worth a total of 171.38 billion won. This represents a large-scale investment equivalent to about 21.8% of the company’s total assets (787.7 billion won). The new equipment will be supplied by major semiconductor testing equipment manufacturers, including Advantest and Interaction from Japan, as well as SEMES from Korea.

Doosan Tesna plans to sequentially introduce the equipment from January 2026 to March 2027, gradually expanding its semiconductor testing infrastructure. The investment funds will be raised through a combination of internal resources and loans from financial institutions. A Doosan Tesna official stated, "The testing business is structured so that preemptive investment leads to sales growth. Once this investment is complete, it will make a significant contribution to both sales and profit growth over the mid- to long-term."

Although Doosan Tesna recorded an operating loss in the first half of this year due to a sluggish semiconductor market, the company is expected to recover in the second half as testing volumes for high-resolution image sensors and automotive semiconductors increase.
