"Stay-Type Events Expected to Revitalize the Local Economy"

Namwon City in North Jeolla Province will host a variety of prize events, including a stamp tour, for Nuri Citizens residing outside the region in conjunction with its three major autumn festivals: the International Drone Festival, the Heungbuje Festival, and the National Heritage Night Walk, which will take place from October 16 to 19.

According to the city on October 15, these events aim to raise awareness of the Namwon Nuri Citizen program and revitalize the local economy. The stamp tour allows Namwon Nuri Citizens to participate by visiting the sites of the three major festivals and completing all stamp verifications during the festival period. Both existing members and those who sign up on-site are eligible to join.

Approximately 3,000 participants who complete the stamp tour will receive vouchers for agricultural products, such as One Food, which can be used at the event venues. Stamp cards and vouchers can be collected at the Namwon Nuri Citizen booths located within the International Drone Festival and the National Heritage Night Walk.

In particular, the city plans to further invigorate the local economy by providing additional agricultural product vouchers to participants who verify their overnight stay, thereby encouraging longer visits and establishing the festivals as stay-type events.

Additionally, to commemorate surpassing 150,000 Namwon Nuri Citizens, the city will award the 20th, 120th, and so on, up to the nth stamp tour finishers with a 'Myeongjigak Accommodation 30% Mobile Discount Coupon' and additional agricultural product vouchers, both valid until December 31, to encourage return visits and boost participation in the stamp tour. Myeongjigak is a regionally specialized eco-friendly Hanok hotel that opened in June and won the top prize in the completed projects category at the 2025 Korea Wooden Architecture Awards.

Mayor Choi Kyungsik stated, "I hope that becoming a Namwon Nuri Citizen will foster a connection with Namwon and provide an opportunity to visit again," adding, "We will do our best to secure a stable resident population by actively recruiting affiliated stores and expanding programs for Nuri Citizens so that they can enjoy even more benefits in the future."
