This event was organized to walk the trail with a natural environment interpreter residing in Uijeongbu, share the value of the region's natural resources and historical and cultural assets, and explore ways to utilize local forest resources from a citizen's perspective.

Bukhansan National Park is a representative mountain in the Seoul metropolitan area, and the Hoeryong Trail is a popular route among citizens, featuring temples and ecological resources along its gentle course. Mayor Kim Donggeun listened to the interpreters' explanations on-site, examined the ecological features and exploration environment, and discussed ways for citizens to enjoy nature more closely in their daily lives.

The interpreters emphasized, "The mountains in Uijeongbu, such as Sapaesan, Dobongsan, and Suraksan, are adjacent to the city, making them easily accessible to all citizens. They are valuable local assets that can be utilized not only for relaxation but also for ecological education and cultural experiences in various ways."

Mayor Kim stated, "Natural environment interpreters serve as cultural mediators who help citizens understand nature and are a strong resource for Uijeongbu, an ecological city. In July, Uijeongbu City signed a 'Trail Management Agreement for the Coexistence of Nature and Citizens' with the National Park Service, and we are cooperating to improve and maintain the trails and enhance user convenience."

He added, "Going forward, we will actively reflect on-site feedback in municipal administration to create a city where citizens can enjoy nature safely and with dignity."

Meanwhile, through the "Into Everyday Life" program, which involves visiting citizens' daily lives directly, the city continues to promote field-oriented communication and the development of policy ideas. This exploration confirmed the potential for expanding ecological interpretation and cultural education based on citizen resources, and served as a meaningful opportunity to seek directions for cooperation with municipal administration.
