Ulsan Elia Hospital (Director: Jung Younghwan) will participate in the 'Disability Employment Consulting' project conducted by the Ulsan Branch of the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled (Branch Manager: Han Youngjae) to develop suitable positions for people with disabilities and strengthen customized recruitment.
The 'Disability Employment Consulting' project systematically and comprehensively analyzes a company's environment for hiring people with disabilities, diagnoses its employment capabilities, and provides continuous management and support by linking various programs of the agency to help companies employ people with disabilities.
Currently, companies employing 50 or more full-time workers are required to hire a certain percentage of employees with disabilities. As of 2025, private sector employers are subject to a mandatory employment rate of 3.1%, and public institutions 3.8%. Those who do not meet this requirement are obligated to pay a disability employment levy.
In the first half of this year, Ulsan Elia Hospital fulfilled its social responsibility by expanding employment of people with disabilities, including hiring three additional individuals with severe disabilities, and has been working to improve awareness of hiring people with disabilities.
Through this consulting project, the hospital will conduct an online assessment of its disability employment capabilities, share the results, and receive support in establishing improvement plans and service strategies tailored to the hospital's needs.
With this consulting initiative, Ulsan Elia Hospital plans to continuously develop suitable positions for people with disabilities and implement customized recruitment. In addition, the hospital will expand training to strengthen the competencies of newly hired staff, enhance disability awareness education for all employees, and provide support and communication to help employees with disabilities quickly adapt to the hospital environment.
Im Miyoung, Administrative Director of Ulsan Elia Hospital, stated, "It has been difficult for the hospital to develop suitable positions for people with disabilities, making it challenging to recruit staff. Therefore, we have high expectations that this consulting will increase employment of people with disabilities. Ulsan Elia Hospital will continue to actively seek and support various ways to promote the rights and interests of socially disadvantaged groups, including people with disabilities, and contribute to the local community."
