Daejeon City will begin offering free influenza (flu) and COVID-19 vaccinations to high-risk groups, including seniors aged 65 and older.

This simultaneous vaccination campaign aims to prevent infectious diseases among high-risk groups and block community transmission. Starting on the 15th, vaccinations will be administered in phases according to age: seniors aged 75 and older first, followed by those aged 70 to 74 beginning on the 20th, and those aged 65 to 69 starting on the 22nd.

For COVID-19 vaccinations, individuals with weakened immune systems who are at least six months old, as well as residents and inpatients of high-risk facilities, are eligible regardless of age. The vaccination campaign will run until April 30 of next year.

Vaccinations can be received at the nearest designated medical institution or public health center, regardless of place of residence. You can check available medical institutions on the Immunization Helper website. Those who are not eligible for the national vaccination program may receive vaccinations at medical institutions for a fee.

Lee Jangwoo, Mayor of Daejeon, stated, "As the likelihood of a simultaneous outbreak of flu and COVID-19 increases, simultaneous vaccination is the most effective way to protect citizens' health," urging citizens to actively participate in the vaccination program.
