October 16-17 at Dasom Madang, Busan Citizens Park
A Festival of Citizen Participation Featuring Exhibitions, Hands-On Experiences, Seminars, and Performances
Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC) will host the 2025 Busan Urban Regeneration Expo at Dasom Madang in Busan Citizens Park from October 16 to 17.
This expo is an opportunity to share the achievements of urban regeneration and balanced development promoted by Busan City with its citizens. A variety of events will take place, including exhibition and promotional booths, citizen-participation programs, seminars, and performances.
Official events will include the opening ceremony on October 16, a keynote speech, awards for contributors to urban regeneration, and a K-POP dance performance. The program aims to combine both the expertise and public appeal of urban regeneration.
At the Policy Promotion Hall, visitors can learn about changes in the government’s urban regeneration policies and major achievements such as Busan’s signature project, the Sanbok Road Renaissance. In the promotional booths, Busan Metropolitan Corporation, each district and county, local communities, and cooperatives will present their individual project achievements and offer hands-on activities.
Additionally, the Urban Regeneration Best Practices Competition will recognize outstanding regions and communities. Seminars and a youth talk concert will be held to explore sustainable development directions for urban regeneration.
There will also be a wide range of programs for citizens to participate in directly. These include “On:Na Busan Game,” inspired by Squid Game, a sand art experience, urban regeneration-themed tarot cards, busking performances, a stamp tour, and the treasure hunt event “Pick Up (GO), Find Treasure (GO),” all designed to make the expo a festival where everyone can join in and have fun.
President Shin Changho stated, “I hope this Urban Regeneration Expo will be a platform for citizens to reflect on Busan’s urban regeneration journey and envision a better future for the city together. I ask for the interest and participation of many citizens as we work to make Busan a happier and more livable city.”
