Muan County in South Jeolla Province was recognized for the excellence of its youth support policies, being selected as an outstanding institution at the 21st Korea Local Autonomy Management Competition and receiving a commendation from the Minister of the Interior and Safety.

Co-hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and The Korea Times, this competition is a leading policy contest aimed at sharing and spreading the creative policies of local governments across the country to revitalize regional economies and improve the quality of life for residents.

The county received high marks for implementing comprehensive policies to support youth independence and settlement, including the creation of startups and jobs, and improvements to the residential environment. In particular, the following initiatives proved effective: the dual operation of youth centers and youth platforms tailored to the characteristics of Muan-eup and the Namak New Town; support for youth challenges, startup activity funding, and youth commercial space; as well as practical youth support policies such as housing cost assistance and the selection of youth housing project zones.

Kim San, Governor of Muan County, stated, "We will continue to pursue a variety of support policies to create an environment where young people can realize their dreams and grow."
