Yeonggwang County Temporarily Operates Online Civil Service Portal to Replace National Petition Portal

Yeonggwang County in South Jeolla Province will launch the "Saeol Electronic Civil Service Portal" starting from October 15, in an effort to minimize inconvenience for residents after the suspension of central civil service systems such as the National Petition Portal, which was caused by the fire at the National Information Resources Service on September 26.

As it is expected to take at least a month to restore the National Petition Portal system, Yeonggwang County plans to provide prompt and stable civil service processing by shifting the temporary application system-which had relied mainly on mail and in-person visits-to an online platform.

The "Saeol Electronic Civil Service Portal" allows residents to log in using mobile phone identity verification and submit civil service requests. Applications can be submitted through the Yeonggwang County website (Electronic Civil Service > Online Civil Service Application > Yeonggwang County Electronic Civil Service Portal) starting from October 15.

An official from Yeonggwang County stated, "We have quickly set up an online application portal to minimize inconvenience for residents caused by the prolonged suspension of the National Petition Portal," adding, "Until the system is restored, the county will take direct responsibility for civil service administration, and even after restoration, we will continue to strengthen resident-centered civil service offerings."
