Damyang County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Jeong Cheolwon) announced on October 14 that it will host the 'World Culture Festival' over two days, from October 17 to 18, at Damyang Global Culture Center and the Damyang Five-Day Market area.
The event will feature a variety of programs, including traditional costume fashion shows and performances from around the world, hands-on costume experiences, and food booths. The festival will run from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., and is expected to serve as a venue for cultural exchange, bringing together local residents, tourists, merchants, and artists.
Main programs include: a global fashion show showcasing traditional costumes; opportunities to try on outfits; world traditional culture performances; a K-Pop cover dance stage by K-Pop Demon Hunters; singing contests and busking performances; as well as global food booths and a flea market.
In particular, the fashion show featuring costumes and performances from various countries, hands-on costume experiences for visitors, and K-Pop performances are expected to provide a stage that transcends generations and nationalities, allowing everyone to enjoy together.
A county official said, "We hope this festival will serve as an opportunity for multicultural families, residents, and visitors to experience and communicate with diverse cultures from around the world," adding, "We will continue to strive to make the Damyang Global Culture Center a central space for promoting cultural diversity in the local community."
