Iksan City, North Jeolla Province, announced on the 14th that it will hold the "2025 Dada Yeongdeung Cosplay Contest" at the Yeongdeung-dong Food Alley on the 18th.
This contest is open to everyone regardless of age or gender, and on-site registration is available, making it easy for even cosplay beginners to participate without pressure.
With a total prize pool of 1.8 million won, fierce competition is expected. Participants will be judged based on their character costumes and performances, with the grand prize winner receiving 1 million won, the runner-up 500,000 won, and the third-place winner 300,000 won.
Notably, the famous cosplay team "RZ COS" will make an appearance, captivating the audience with a spectacular performance. In addition, there will be costume rental and makeup booths at the event site, allowing anyone to easily experience cosplay.
Side events include a cosplay parade by cosplayers, a Jamstick performance, a celebratory show by the Icarus dance team, and a DJ performance, offering a variety of entertainment for visitors. Furthermore, as a special event, those who present a purchase receipt from stores in the Yeongdeung commercial district will receive a Dada Yeongdeung reusable bag and a glow-in-the-dark headband.
Additionally, lights will be installed throughout the Food Alley and photo zones will be set up to enhance the festive atmosphere. Nearby shops are also actively participating in the cosplay event, contributing to the revitalization of the local commercial district.
Lee Yongseon, president of the Yeongdeung Commercial District Merchants Association, said, "We have prepared a variety of events and attractions for visitors to enjoy," adding, "We hope many citizens and tourists will participate and have a great time together."
Mayor Jung Heon-yul stated, "This event has grown every year and is attracting significant attention from cosplay fans nationwide," and added, "With costume rental and makeup booths available, anyone can easily join, so we hope many people will come and enjoy the event in person."
