Korea Consumer Agency Tests and Evaluates 10 Products
All Products Show Excellent Sebum Cleansing Power
Differences Found in Fine Dust Cleansing Effectiveness
Price Gap Between Products Reaches Up to 13.3 Times
The Korea Consumer Agency announced on October 14 that it tested and evaluated 10 body wash products with high consumer preference for cleansing power, user experience, safety, and environmental impact. The results showed that all products demonstrated excellent sebum cleansing power, but there were differences among products in terms of fine dust cleansing power and overall satisfaction.
The body wash products examined by the Korea Consumer Agency were: Man with a Flower Milk Body Shower, Neutrogena Daily Body Wash, The Body Shop Shower Gel Pink Grapefruit, Dove Beauty Nourishing Body Wash, L'Occitane Verbena Shower Gel, Beyond Deep Moisture Creamy Body Wash, On the Body The Natural Moisture Body Wash Olive Scent, Illiyoon Fresh Moisture Body Wash, Kundal Honey and Macadamia Pure Body Wash Baby Powder, and Happy Bath Really Moist Body Wash.
Among these products, six-Man with a Flower Milk Body Shower, The Body Shop Shower Gel Pink Grapefruit, Dove Beauty Nourishing Body Wash, L'Occitane Verbena Shower Gel, Beyond Deep Moisture Creamy Body Wash, and Illiyoon Fresh Moisture Body Wash-showed relatively superior fine dust cleansing power, while the remaining four products were found to be at a satisfactory level.
User experience for the body washes was evaluated on a 5-point scale in the categories of "rinse-off," "moisturizing feel," and "overall satisfaction." For rinse-off, Man with a Flower Milk Body Shower received the highest score of 4.3 points. In terms of how moisturized the skin felt after showering, Kundal Honey and Macadamia Pure Body Wash Baby Powder scored 3.8 points, followed by Neutrogena Daily Body Wash at 3.7 points. For overall satisfaction, Kundal Honey and Macadamia Pure Body Wash Baby Powder received the highest score of 3.8 points.

No heavy metals were detected in any of the products, and all products met relevant standards for container durability, as no damage was observed when the containers were dropped. In terms of "biodegradability," which measures how well the body wash breaks down by microorganisms when released into the natural environment via wastewater, all products were found to perform well.
However, Neutrogena Daily Body Wash omitted the allergenic ingredient "Butylphenyl Methylpropional," which must be indicated if it exceeds 0.01%. The manufacturer, Johnson & Johnson Korea, responded to the Korea Consumer Agency that it has since corrected the labeling for this product.
Additionally, the price per 100ml unit was lowest for On the Body The Natural Moisture Body Wash Olive Scent at 746 won, and highest for L'Occitane Verbena Shower Gel at 9,900 won, resulting in a maximum price difference of 13.3 times between products.
The Korea Consumer Agency stated, "We will continue to provide information on the quality, safety, and environmental impact of cosmetics through the Consumer24 website to support rational consumer choices in the future."
