Hyundai Motor and Inje County to Simultaneously Host TCR World Tour and Other Motorsports Events

TCR World Tour to Be Held in Inje for the First Time in Korea

Hyundai Motor Company, in collaboration with Inje County in Gangwon Province, will simultaneously host three domestic and international motorsports competitions at the Inje Speedium track.

On October 14, Hyundai announced that it will co-host the 'Inje World Touring Car Festival' with Inje County at Inje Speedium for two days on October 18 and 19. The event will feature three motorsports competitions held concurrently: the Hyundai N Festival, the FIA Touring Car Racing (TCR) World Tour, and TCR Asia.

The Hyundai N Festival is the largest one-make race in Korea, where competitors race with identical vehicle models. This event will be the fourth round out of a total of six, featuring dedicated race cars developed based on the Ioniq 5 N and Avante N.

For the first time in Korea, the FIA (F?d?ration Internationale de l'Automobile) TCR World Tour will be held at the Inje World Touring Car Festival. The TCR series is a motorsport competition in which manufacturers produce race cars and sell them to various racing teams.

The FIA TCR World Tour is the top-tier competition encompassing more than 20 regional events such as TCR Europe and TCR Asia, as well as national events like TCR Italy and TCR China.

Since 2018, Hyundai has been selling and supporting race cars based on the i30 N and Avante N. Through these efforts, Hyundai has secured two team championships and five driver championships in the FIA TCR World Tour. In September, Hyundai claimed victory with the Avante N TCR at the fifth round of the FIA TCR World Tour held in Australia. The sixth round of the FIA TCR World Tour will be held together with the fifth round of TCR Asia.

The FIA TCR World Tour will feature renowned drivers such as Norbert Michelisz and Mikel Azcona from the Hyundai BRC Team, as well as Nestor Girolami. In TCR Asia, Korean drivers Park Junui and Park Junseong from the Solite Indigo Team, along with Choi Jeongwon from KMSA Motorsport, are scheduled to participate.

Park Junwoo, Executive Director of Hyundai N Management Division, stated, "As the FIA TCR World Tour is being held in Korea for the first time, we will make this event a festival that can be enjoyed by all customers and motorsports enthusiasts."
