This event, hosted and organized by the Northern Gyeonggi Culture and Tourism Platform Pureundure (CEO Shin Minsik), was designed to reinterpret the spirit of Hangul's creation and its aesthetic beauty in a modern way, and to spread the value of sustainable culture through upcycled fashion.
More than 500 people, including Mayor Kim Donggeun, distinguished guests, and citizens, participated in the event. Around 40 citizen models-including children, teenagers, seniors, and people with disabilities-who were selected through a preliminary public review, took to the stage to express their individuality beyond generational and physical boundaries. Families of the citizen models and visitors to Haengbok-ro also enjoyed the beauty of Hangul as they watched the show.
The fashion show featured three main themes: "Rediscovery of Tradition," showcasing traditional hanbok embroidered with Hunminjeongeum script; "Hangul in Everyday Life," focusing on daily hanbok; and "Hangul into the Future," blending Hangul with K-fashion.
The outfits were made by adding Hangul patterns and phrases to discarded banners and recycled fabrics, creating a stage where tradition and modernity coexisted. The show was directed by Kim Eunyeop, General Director (CEO of PoseM Company and President of the Northern Gyeonggi Model Association), with designs by designer Park Jihui.

CEO Shin Minsik stated, "We planned a stage where citizens could participate as models themselves in order to carry on the legacy of Shin Sukju, who contributed to the creation of Hangul, as a part of today's civic culture."
Mayor Kim Donggeun said, "Hangul is the spirit of our people and the force that unites the nation; it is the driving force behind today's Republic of Korea. I hope that this fashion show, with citizens taking center stage and communicating with the world through Hangul-the foundation of K-culture-will be a meaningful occasion to newly appreciate its beauty."
