Yeoju City Holds Opening Ceremony for Ttokbus in Ganam-eup... Providing High-Quality Public Transportation Service

Connecting Underserved Areas with Comprehensive Transportation Networks

Yeoju City in Gyeonggi Province held an opening ceremony for the demand-responsive transport service "Ttokbus" at Ganam Taepyeong Cultural Park on the 10th. This event marks the official launch of Yeoju City's pilot project to reform the public transportation system and symbolizes the resolution of long-standing transportation inconveniences for residents of Ganam-eup.

The ceremony was attended by key figures including Lee Chungwoo, mayor of Yeoju City, Park Doohyeong, chairman of the Yeoju City Council, as well as citizens who gathered to celebrate the start of the pilot project.

The event proceeded in the following order: a progress report on the Ttokbus project, commemorative and congratulatory speeches, a tape-cutting ceremony, and a presentation ceremony.


Notably, Daewon Express Co., Ltd., the operating company, organized a special event to commemorate the first Ttokbus ride in Ganam-eup, presenting the first passenger with a transportation card worth 100,000 won.

Daewon Express Co., Ltd. has also been leading community sharing activities, such as donating Onnuri gift certificates worth 5 million won to Yeoju City during the Chuseok holiday in September.


Through the launch of the Ttokbus service in Ganam-eup, Yeoju City expects to ease transportation burdens for students returning home late and their parents, revitalize the local commercial district, improve mobility for senior citizens, and achieve overall improvements in the daily transportation environment.


Mayor Lee Chungwoo stated, "With the launch of Ttokbus, I hope that transportation inconveniences for Ganam-eup residents will be resolved and that the local economy and commercial district will regain vitality."
