The Community Security Council of Juwol 1-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju announced on October 13, 2025, that it recently launched the "Our Neighborhood Good Store Good Coupon" project to revitalize local alley markets and support neighbors in need.
A "Good Store" refers to a small or medium-sized independently owned business that practices sharing by continuously donating a certain amount of its monthly sales (at least 30,000 won per month).
The Juwol 1-dong Community Security Council plans to establish a virtuous cycle by providing 70 neighbors in need with Good Coupons worth 70,000 won each, which can be used at local Good Stores, so that the sponsorship funds are returned to these Good Stores.
The Good Coupons can be used at about 30 Good Stores-including restaurants, supermarkets, beauty salons, and dental clinics-that have signed mutual cooperation agreements with Juwol 1-dong, and are valid through next month.
Cho Daegyu, Chairperson of the Juwol 1-dong Community Security Council, stated, "The Good Store Good Coupon project supports Good Stores that are contributing to the spread of a sharing culture and also strengthens assistance for neighbors in need. We will continue to seek various ways for Good Stores, the local community, and neighbors in need to coexist and thrive together."
Seo Jongik, Head of Juwol 1-dong, said, "I hope the Good Coupon project will become a meaningful initiative that goes beyond simple donations by fostering sharing connected to the local commercial district. We will continue to work to promote a warm culture of sharing for marginalized groups."
