December 5?28 at Sejong Center M Theater
The Seoul Metropolitan Musical Theatre Company will stage the original musical "A Christmas Carol" at the Sejong Center M Theater from December 5 to December 28.
The production is based on the famous classic novel of the same name by the renowned British author Charles Dickens. The Seoul Metropolitan Musical Theatre Company announced that it plans to deliver the original story’s messages of recovery, forgiveness, and solidarity with a modern sensibility.
The role of the "Spirit," a central character in the play alongside Scrooge, will be played by musical actress Lisa and company member Lee Yeonkyung. In the story, the Spirit travels through the past, present, and future, and the actors in this role will each portray three different characters. Lisa is known for her powerful presence on major stages, including "Phantom," "The Man Who Laughs," "The Rose of Versailles," and "Rebecca."
The lead role of "Scrooge" will be played by Lee Kyungjun and Han Ilkyung of the Seoul Metropolitan Musical Theatre Company in a double casting.
The production will be directed by Pyo Sanga, who previously directed the musicals "Gutenberg" and "Banguseok Musical," as well as the play "Beginning." The creative team also includes playwright Jung Jun and composer Jo Hanna, the duo behind the original family musical "Jangsutang Seonnyeonim."
Tickets for the musical "A Christmas Carol" will be available for reservation starting at 2 p.m. on October 14. A variety of discounts will be offered. Audiences attending during the opening week (December 5-11) can receive a 25% preview discount, and families of three or more can enjoy a 30% family discount. There is also a 20% cultural outing discount for groups of five or more office workers.
