Lotte Cultureworks and the drama production company AStory announced on October 13 that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for content collaboration.

The two companies will jointly plan new productions by merging musicals and dramas. They plan to bring AStory’s intellectual properties, including "Big Mouth," "The Day of Kidnapping," and "Extraordinary Attorney Woo," to the stage.

Lotte Cultureworks has operated Korea’s first musical-exclusive theater, Charlotte Theater, for over 20 years. AStory is known for producing "Extraordinary Attorney Woo," "Big Mouth," and "Kingdom."

The companies expect their synergy to help expand the base of the musical market. The combination of drama and performance capabilities is anticipated to become a driving force for growth in Korea’s performing arts industry.

Yoon Se-in, head of the Live Business Team at Lotte Cultureworks, said, "We aim to innovate the K-content market by transforming video content into live performances," adding, "We will meet audiences with fresh productions that combine genres."
