Park: "We Will Eliminate Childcare Gaps and Create a City Where Children and Parents Are Happy"
Gwangmyeong City in Gyeonggi Province is operating a 24-hour daycare center to address gaps in childcare services.
Gwangmyeong City announced that, starting from October 13, it will operate the 'Always Daycare' within the city-run The Heritage Daycare Center, the first facility of its kind in the area. This center allows parents to entrust their children not only on weekdays but also on weekends and public holidays, 24 hours a day.

'Always Daycare' is a 24-hour childcare facility designed so that parents can safely leave their children in emergency or temporary situations when care is needed, whether on weekdays, weekends, or public holidays.
This facility, which opened last month within The Heritage Daycare Center, occupies a space of 26.5 square meters. It has a capacity for five children and is staffed by three teachers who work in three shifts to provide round-the-clock care services.
The service is available to infants and young children aged six months to under seven years who reside in Gyeonggi Province. The usage fee is 3,000 won per hour. Admission hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekdays, and from 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. However, the facility does not operate on New Year's Day, Lunar New Year, Chuseok, Buddha's Birthday, and Christmas.
Reservations can be made from five days in advance, with a maximum of five consecutive days per booking. Same-day reservations are accepted until 3:00 p.m., and for night or early morning care (from 10:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. the next day), reservations must be made by 6:00 p.m. the previous day.
Those wishing to use the service can make a reservation by phone or by visiting The Heritage Daycare Center in person.
Park Seungwon, Mayor of Gwangmyeong City, stated, "Always Daycare will be a reliable support for parents who need childcare assistance, such as dual-income and single-parent families," adding, "We will eliminate gaps and blind spots in childcare to create a city where both children and parents can be happy."
