Distribution of Safety Kits Including Fire Detectors and Extinguishers
Jungnang District in Seoul (Mayor Ryu Kyunggi) has been conducting the "2025 Disaster Vulnerable Household Safety Inspection and Improvement Project" for 1,150 households vulnerable to disasters and safety accidents from August to December. The goal is to prevent accidents by identifying potential risks in daily life in advance.

The inspections cover four areas: electricity, gas, fire safety, and boilers. Along with facility inspections, safety supplies are also distributed. From the outset, the district formed a review committee composed of experts to select socially vulnerable groups such as basic livelihood security recipients, low-income families, and people with disabilities. An "Safety and Welfare Consulting Team," consisting of project managers and professional inspection companies, was organized to provide prior training and establish a cooperative system.
Since September, fire detectors have been installed in 288 households, and fire safety kits-including spray-type fire extinguishers, smoke masks, and fire blankets-have been distributed. So far, electrical facilities in 125 households, gas facilities in 489 households (including the installation of gas timers), and boilers in 109 households have been inspected. Starting in November, daily safety items such as non-slip mats and first aid kits will also be provided sequentially.
Ryu Kyunggi, Mayor of Jungnang District, stated, "Through this project, our goal is not only to effectively reduce the risk of accidents for disaster-vulnerable households but also to help all residents enjoy a safer daily life. We will continue to make every effort to build a 'Safe City Jungnang' in the future."
