The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency will open the 'AI Campus' in northern Gyeonggi on October 23 and, in partnership with IBM, will run an AI specialist training program as well as AI literacy education for local residents.
The newly established Gyeonggi AI Campus will be located on the 16th floor of the Goyang Creative Innovation Campus, with a total area of 530 square meters (approximately 160 pyeong). It will feature lecture halls, conference rooms, a big tech experience zone, and rest and communication areas, operating as an open learning space where education, networking, and hands-on experiences are all possible.
As its first official educational program, the agency will collaborate with IBM to offer the 'AI Skill-up Program: Complete in 4 Days' from October 28 to 31.
Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency partners with IBM to operate an AI specialist training program.
Previously, the agency has partnered with global big tech companies such as AWS, Google Cloud, NAVER Cloud, NVIDIA, and Microsoft to provide specialized training for 100 young people.
The fourth session of the 'AI Literacy Education' program for the general public will also be held at the same location.
The curriculum covers a wide range, from basic understanding of AI to utilizing GPT and hands-on Vive coding practice.
Kim Hyungon, President of the agency, stated, "The Gyeonggi AI Campus (Northern) will not just serve as an educational facility but will become a hub for regional innovation. Through educational programs open to all residents, not only young people aspiring to enter the AI industry but anyone in Gyeonggi-do can participate, helping to spread AI competency throughout the province."
