The Hwacheon County Sports Association will host the "2025 Hwacheon Nationwide Park Golf Tournament for Underlying Health Conditions (Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Cardiovascular)" from October 14 to 29, 2025.
This tournament is the only park golf event in Korea exclusively for those with diabetes, a history of cardiovascular diseases, or a history of high or low blood pressure.
More than 1,600 park golf enthusiasts with underlying health conditions from across the country will participate in the tournament.
The four preliminary rounds will be held on October 14, 15, 21, and 22 at Sanae Park Golf Course and Hwacheon Sports Park Park Golf Course (Yongam Course).
The preliminaries will use an individual stroke play format, with each player completing 36 holes in a day.
The finals will take place on October 29 at the Sancheoneo Park Golf Course in Georae-ri, Hanam-myeon.
In the finals, 180 men and 180 women who have passed the preliminaries will compete, playing a total of 72 holes in a stroke play format over two days.
The tournament is divided into men's and women's divisions, awarding prize money of 10 million won for first place, 5 million won for second place, and 3 million won for third place in each division.
Prizes will be awarded up to 10th place in the finals, and additional event prizes will be given to those placing 40th, 60th, 100th, 120th, and 160th in both the men's and women's divisions.
The 2025 Hwacheon Nationwide Park Golf Tournament for Underlying Health Conditions (Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Cardiovascular) aims to promote the health benefits of park golf and to broaden its base of participants nationwide.
Hwacheon County had already garnered significant attention last July by hosting the country's first nationwide park golf tournament for cancer survivors.
Choi Moonsoon, the governor of Hwacheon County, stated, "We organized this tournament to widely share the message that park golf can help overcome cancer and underlying health conditions and restore health. We hope to bring hope not only to existing park golf enthusiasts but also to cancer patients and people with underlying health conditions who have not yet experienced park golf."
The 2025 Hwacheon Nationwide Park Golf Tournament for Underlying Health Conditions (Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Cardiovascular) is hosted by the Hwacheon County Sports Association and sponsored by Hwacheon County, the Korea Park Golf Association, the Gangwon-do Park Golf Association, and the Hwacheon County Park Golf Association.
