Busan Office of Education to Hire 809 New Educational Support Staff... Major Increase in Meal Service and Care Personnel

Nearly Double Compared to Last Year

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) has announced its "New Recruitment Plan for Educational Support Staff," under which a total of 809 educational support staff will be hired across nine job categories in the second half of 2025.

This recruitment scale represents an increase of approximately 90% compared to last year's 426 positions. The office will be hiring staff for a total of nine job categories: 350 school meal service staff, 214 Neulbom administrative assistants, 100 special education assistants, 94 care coordinators, 33 educational assistants, 1 educational welfare officer, 3 professional counselors (including 1 clinical psychologist, 1 professional counselor, and 1 for the 117 Center), 3 dormitory supervisors, and 11 institution operations assistants.

An official from the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education explained, "The main reasons for this increase are the improvement of staff allocation standards to reduce the workload of school meal service workers, and the expansion of care coordinators and administrative assistants to ensure the stable operation of Neulbom Schools."

Applications will be accepted for four days from October 14 to 17 through the "Educational Support Staff Recruitment Management System." The aptitude assessment will take place on November 15, followed by interviews for the first-round successful candidates on December 13. The final list of successful applicants will be announced on December 17.

Superintendent Kim Seokjun stated, "I hope that many talented individuals with both character and capability will apply," adding, "Through this recruitment, we aim to improve the working conditions of educational support staff and provide higher-quality educational services to students."

Further details can be found on the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education website or in the announcement posted on the Educational Support Staff Recruitment Management System.
