Third Community Laundry Facility Selected for Hometown Love Fund Project
Following Cheongsan-myeon and Nohwa-eup
Wando County in South Jeolla Province announced on October 11 that the "Soan-myeon Community Laundry Facility" has been selected for the "2025 Hometown Love Fund Public Project" promoted by the South Jeolla Provincial Government.
A total of 30 million won, including provincial and county funds, will be invested in this project. Large washing machines and dryers will be installed, and volunteer laundry services for large items such as blankets will be provided to seniors and vulnerable groups.
The county plans to use this project to improve the quality of life for local residents while also establishing a comprehensive care system that connects side dish delivery services and regular welfare check-ins.
The Soan-myeon laundry facility will be set up inside the Women’s Association office. In cooperation with the Soan-myeon Women’s Association, a one-stop service will be offered, ranging from the collection of laundry at residents’ homes to washing, drying, and delivery. The community laundry facility is a Hometown Love Fund project jointly operated by South Jeolla Province and city and county governments. Soan-myeon is the third area to be selected, following Cheongsan-myeon and Nohwa-eup. As a result, Wando County will receive the largest budget support in South Jeolla Province.
A county official stated, "The community laundry facility is not just a convenient living amenity, but a welfare model closely tied to daily life that provides both laundry and care services for vulnerable groups. We plan to expand this project to island regions in order to further improve the quality of life for our residents."
