Retroactive Payments for Manually Processed Work and Extension of Usage Period
The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Social Security Information Service announced on the 10th that they have temporarily reopened the Electronic Voucher System.
The Electronic Voucher System supports the creation, payment, and cost disbursement of vouchers for 21 projects across three ministries, including support for people with disabilities. Previously, when a fire caused the system to go offline, the government instructed each institution to continue providing services and to manually record the costs.
With this temporary reopening, voucher payments, deposits by local governments, and user co-payment submissions are once again possible.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare explained that if a voucher expired during the system outage, the usage period will be extended, and for work that was processed manually by service providers, retroactive payments will be allowed. The ministry also stated that it will implement additional supplementary measures if necessary.
Minister of Health and Welfare Chung Eun-kyung said, "We apologize to the public and all social service workers for the inconvenience caused by the need for manual work during this period."
