10th Anniversary Lifelong Learning Festival Created by Yeoju Citizens
To Be Held at Yeoju Lifelong Learning Center Area on October 24-25

Yeoju City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Chungwoo) will host the 10th Yeoju City Lifelong Learning and Resident Autonomy Festival over two days, from October 24 to 25, at the Yeoju City Lifelong Learning Center and its surrounding area. Held under the theme "Yeo-Pyeong Where Learning Grows - 10 Years Built Together, Opening Tomorrow Together," this festival is designed as a meaningful occasion to share the achievements of learning accumulated with citizens over the past decade in Yeoju, a lifelong learning city, and to embark on a new decade ahead.

More than 90 organizations, including lifelong learning institutions, facilities, groups, resident autonomy centers in towns and villages, and learning clubs within the city, will participate in this festival to showcase Yeoju's diverse learning culture. As a "citizen participation festival," citizens will take the lead in planning and running the event, making it an open festival where people of all ages can learn and enjoy together.

The opening ceremony, which marks the start of the event, will take place at 1 p.m. on October 24 at the outdoor stage. It will feature the national ceremony, opening remarks, commendations for distinguished contributors, an awards ceremony for the Adult Literacy Poetry Exhibition, and a special performance commemorating the 10th anniversary.

Following this, a variety of stage programs will welcome visitors, including a resident autonomy cultural program contest, lifelong learning club presentations, and competitions.

Additionally, a rich lineup of programs catering to all generations and social groups is prepared, such as the Silver Dream Theater’s children’s puppet show "Yes, Yes," the Adult Literacy King Sejong Korean Golden Bell quiz, exhibitions and experience booths showcasing lifelong learning achievements, a social community flea market, a food market, and a children’s playland.

This year, in particular, to celebrate the festival's 10th anniversary, a citizen-participatory opening performance will be presented. The area around the Lifelong Learning Center will be transformed into a "Learning Culture Zone," creating a space where learning, leisure, and culture blend together. In the performance hall lobby, the Adult Literacy Poetry Exhibition and works from the Yeoju Art Museum will be on display, while the "Learning Forest Experience Trail" on the hillside will be open for citizens to enjoy.

A Yeoju City official stated, "We aim to look back on the footsteps of Yeoju, which has grown together with citizens as a lifelong learning city over the past 10 years, and to make this a festival that opens up new hopes for the next decade together with our citizens. We hope everyone will join in enjoying Yeoju’s journey of learning and growth."
