Daejeon City Presents "Master Craftsman" Certificate to Jae-Soo Lee, CEO of Igane Food

On October 10, Daejeon City held a ceremony in the main conference room of City Hall to present certificates and plaques of recognition to two individuals selected as "Master Craftsmen of Daejeon Metropolitan City" for 2025: Jae-Soo Lee (61), CEO of Igane Food in the field of food processing, and Jae-Hoon Kim (55), CEO of Diahorse Design in the field of product design.


Jae-Soo Lee has worked in the field of meat processing and food development for 36 years since 1988, contributing to industrial advancement through numerous patents and publications. In 2023, he was also selected as an "Excellent Skilled Technician" by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.


Jae-Hoon Kim has been active in the field of product design since 1996, obtained the national qualification of Professional Engineer in Product Design, and has worked as a judge for skills competitions and as an industry field instructor, helping to expand the base of technical expertise. In 2022, he was also recognized as an "Excellent Skilled Technician" by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.


The award ceremony was attended by Mayor Jang-Woo Lee of Daejeon, officials from the Daejeon Metropolitan City Masters and Artisans Association, family members, and others who congratulated the newly selected master craftsmen.

Mayor Jang-Woo Lee of Daejeon stated, "The Master Craftsman system of Daejeon Metropolitan City is leading the way in creating a culture that values skilled professionals and enhances the pride of skilled technicians," adding, "I hope you will continue to foster future talent and drive the growth of local industry through technical advancement."


Meanwhile, since the first selection in 2019, Daejeon City has produced a total of 18 master craftsmen as of this year. Those selected as master craftsmen receive a certificate and a plaque of recognition, and are awarded an incentive of 3 million won per year for five years, totaling 15 million won.
