Key Functions, Including New Registrations and Document Inquiries, Now Operational
Five additional systems, including the life-sustaining treatment information processing system, which had been suspended due to the fire at the National Information Resources Service (NIRS), have been restored.
On October 9, the Ministry of Health and Welfare held a Crisis Situation Response Headquarters meeting presided over by Minister Jeong Eun-kyeong to review the restoration status of its administrative information systems and discuss the results of the emergency medical system operations during the Chuseok holiday.
According to the Ministry, the life-sustaining treatment information processing system was restored during the holiday period. Key functions, such as new registrations of advance directives for life-sustaining treatment and inquiries into completed documents, are now operational. In addition, the electronic medical record system certification management portal, the mental health specialist management system, the license management system, and the Social Security Committee website have also been restored.
Prior to the holiday, eight systems under the Ministry had already been restored: the Next-Generation Social Security Information System, the Social Service Information System, the Next-Generation Bokjiro Public Welfare Portal, the National Child Abuse Information System, the Vulnerable Elderly Support System, the Health and Medical Big Data Integrated Platform, the Social Welfare Mutual Aid Association, and the Customized Senior Care System.
All emergency medical integrated information networks, including the National Emergency Department Information System (NEDIS), the Emergency Medical Resource Information System (Comprehensive Dashboard), and the Disaster Emergency Medical Situation Management System, which are used for emergency treatment and disaster response, have been operating normally.
Minister Jeong Eun-kyeong stated, "I would like to once again apologize to the public and to those working in the health and welfare field who have experienced inconvenience due to administrative procedures not running smoothly or the need to process work manually. We will improve alternative work procedures and normalize the systems as soon as possible to minimize inconvenience for the public."
