Two Killed in Traffic Accidents in South Gyeongsang on Last Day of Chuseok Holiday

On the last day of the Chuseok holiday, two people died in traffic accidents in South Gyeongsang Province.


According to the police and other authorities on October 10, at around 8:30 a.m. the previous day, a collision occurred between a sport utility vehicle (SUV) making a U-turn and a 1000cc-class motorcycle on a road in Buk-myeon, Uichang-gu, Changwon City.


The motorcyclist, a man in his twenties who was injured in the accident, was transported to the hospital but ultimately passed away.


On the same day, at around 1:00 p.m., another accident occurred on a road in Sudong-myeon, Hamyang County, where a compact car rear-ended a sedan traveling ahead.


The driver of the compact car, a woman in her sixties who was alone in the vehicle, was seriously injured and taken to the hospital but died.


The police are investigating the exact causes of the accidents through analysis of closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and other means.
