On October 9, which marks the end of the Chuseok holiday and is also Hangul Day, most regions across the country are expected to see generally clear skies.
However, the eastern coast and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province will be cloudy with rain. There will also be occasional rain until dawn in the northern part of the eastern coast and northeastern mountainous areas of North Gyeongsang Province, as well as in the western parts of Jeolla Province, and until the morning in Jeju Island.
Expected precipitation for October 8-9 is 5-20 mm for the eastern coast and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province, less than 5 mm for Gwangju, South Jeolla, and North Jeolla Provinces, and around 5 mm for Jeju Island.
Morning lows will range from 15 to 21 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs will be between 18 and 26 degrees Celsius.
Strong winds may occur, especially in Busan, Ulsan, and the southern part of the eastern coast of North Gyeongsang Province, so extra caution is advised for facility management and to prevent safety accidents.
Waves are expected to reach 1.0 to 3.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 3.5 meters in the South Sea. In the offshore areas (up to about 200 km from the coastline), wave heights are forecast to be 1.0 to 4.0 meters in the East and South Seas, and 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the West Sea.
