Tops Both the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 Charts

The original soundtrack (OST) for the Netflix animated film "K-Pop Demon Hunters" has simultaneously topped both the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and the Billboard 200 albums chart in the United States.

According to Yonhap News on October 7 (local time), citing the Billboard charts, eight tracks from the "K-Pop Demon Hunters" OST also entered the Hot 100 chart dated October 11. Previously, the "K-Pop Demon Hunters" OST had also dominated both the Billboard singles and albums charts last month.

The "K-Pop Demon Hunters" OST debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and has remained on the chart for 15 consecutive weeks, never dropping out of the top 10. The Billboard 200 ranking is determined by combining traditional album sales with streaming equivalent albums (SEA) and track equivalent albums (TEA), which convert streaming and digital downloads into album sales units.

On the Hot 100 chart, Huntrix's "Golden" maintained its No. 1 position for the seventh consecutive week, marking its eighth week at the top overall. "Your Idol" and "Soda Pop" by Lion Voice, the rival group of Huntrix in "K-Pop Demon Hunters," ranked No. 7 and No. 10, respectively. Huntrix's "How It's Done" landed at No. 17.

"Takedown" and "Free" ranked No. 30 and No. 31, respectively, while "Takedown" performed by Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung of Twice took the No. 63 spot, marking its 13th consecutive week on the chart. Twice's "Strategy" placed at No. 66.

"Gabriella" by KATSEYE, the global girl group formed by HYBE and Geffen Records, climbed six spots this week to No. 50 on the Hot 100, marking its 11th week on the chart. Another representative song by KATSEYE, "Gnarly," re-entered the chart at No. 95.

On the Billboard 200, P1Harmony's mini-album "EX" made its debut at No. 9. Stray Kids' "KARMA" ranked No. 34, and KATSEYE's "BEAUTIFUL CHAOS" took the No. 39 spot.

Meanwhile, "K-Pop Demon Hunters" tells the story of the K-pop idol group Huntrix, who defeat evil spirits and protect the world through their music. The film features high-quality music and choreography reminiscent of real K-pop groups, as well as distinctly Korean elements such as the tiger character Duffy and a magpie wearing a traditional Korean hat (gat). It became the most-watched Netflix title, surpassing 300 million cumulative views, a first for the platform.
