In response, the Korea Forest Service raised the landslide crisis alert level for Gangwon Province, taking into account the accumulated rainfall since the previous day and the weather outlook from the Korea Meteorological Administration. This measure aims to proactively respond to potential landslide disasters.

The landslide crisis alert consists of four levels: Attention, Caution, Alert, and Serious. As of October 7, Gangwon Province is the only region where the alert level has been raised to Caution.

The other 16 metropolitan cities and provinces are maintaining the Attention alert level.

Choi Hyunsoo, Director of the Landslide Prevention Division, stated, "We urge people to refrain from outdoor activities near forest areas in Gangwon Province and to absolutely avoid entering restricted areas. Local residents should pay close attention to emergency disaster text messages (CBS) and village broadcasts, and promptly move to designated shelters such as community centers if an evacuation order is issued."
