Close Cooperation Among Police, Local Governments, and Fire Departments
During the autumn festival season, relevant organizations such as the police, local governments, and fire departments are working closely together to create a safe festival environment where citizens can enjoy themselves with peace of mind.
The Daejeon Autonomous Police Committee and the Daejeon Metropolitan Police Agency are making an all-out effort to prevent crowd accidents at local autumn festivals.
From September to November, a total of 58 local festivals are scheduled to take place in the Daejeon area, and some festivals are expected to attract hundreds of thousands of people.
Major festivals include the following: ▲Seogu Art Festival (October 10-12, Saemmeri Park), ▲Chrysanthemum Music Concert (October 18, Yurim Park), ▲Daejeon Bread Festival (October 18-19, Sojaedong area), ▲Donggudongrak Festival (October 24-26, Sojaedong area), and ▲Noodle Daejeon Festival (November 7-9, Expo Science Park).
The Daejeon Autonomous Police Committee and the Daejeon Metropolitan Police Agency have recognized the need for proactive safety management to prevent crowd accidents. They have decided to work closely with local governments, fire departments, and other relevant organizations to conduct pre-event inspections, risk assessments, and ensure appropriate police deployment throughout the entire festival process.
In particular, the city, police, and fire departments will jointly review safety management plans and focus on verifying the adequacy of crowd control, traffic measures, and the deployment of safety personnel. They plan to analyze the scale and characteristics of each event location and, based on the level of risk, implement measures such as traffic and order management, deployment of personnel to prepare for contingencies, and concentrated police support.
Park Heeyong, Chairperson of the Daejeon Autonomous Police Committee, stated, "Based on the principle that citizen safety is our top priority, we will conduct thorough pre-event inspections and on-site responses throughout the festival process." He added, "Relevant organizations such as the police, local governments, and fire departments will work closely together to create a safe festival environment where citizens can enjoy themselves with peace of mind."
