During the Chuseok golden holiday period, visitors continue to flock to the 2025 Namdo International Gourmet Industry Expo.
This expo, held in Mokpo, Jeonnam Province, is the first international event in Korea themed around gourmet cuisine. It has drawn attention by satisfying the senses of a diverse range of visitors, including foreign tourists eager to experience K-Gourmet, families, couples, and food enthusiasts.
In particular, the ASEAN Pavilion, which operated in the Gourmet Event Zone for five days until the 5th, featured participation from all 10 ASEAN countries, including Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines. It was designed as a space where visitors could directly experience each country's traditional food culture, and it gained great popularity through a variety of tastings and events.
From now until the 9th, a special program titled "Hangawi Jeon (Pan-fried Delicacies)·Ban (Rice)·Tang (Soup)·Chae (Vegetables)·Da (Tea)·Gwa (Sweets)·Ju (Liquor)" is being held in the Gourmet Event Zone, allowing visitors to experience the festive atmosphere of the holiday. Visitors can enjoy a unique hands-on experience by preparing a Namdo-style holiday table with dishes such as pollack jeon, shrimp jeon, perilla taro soup, songpyeon, and sikhye, with free tastings also available.
Additionally, on-site events during the same period will offer various delights to visitors, including daily giveaways of draft beer coupons to 2,000 people, 2,000 KRW food booth discount vouchers, and prizes such as gochujang and tuna fish sauce.
Hong Yanghyun, Secretary-General of the Namdo International Gourmet Industry Expo, said, "I would like to thank all the visitors who have shown such enthusiastic interest since the opening of the expo. There are still many programs left to enjoy the flavors and culture of Namdo, including the Liquor Festa from the 10th to the 12th, the Salt Expo from the 17th to the 19th, and the Gimbap Festival from the 24th to the 26th. I hope families will come and enjoy an unforgettable gourmet journey this autumn."
Meanwhile, the 2025 Namdo International Gourmet Industry Expo will continue until the 26th at the Mokpo Culture and Arts Center and its surrounding area.
