Investigation Ended at 6 p.m. After Refusal to Participate in Nighttime Questioning
The police completed a second round of questioning of former Korea Communications Commission Chairwoman Lee Jinsook, who is currently under arrest, on October 3.
The Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul ended the investigation at around 6 p.m., as Lee, who had been under her second round of questioning since the morning, once again refused to participate in a nighttime investigation, just as she had the previous day. The police plan to analyze Lee's statements and will consider whether to request a detention warrant.

Lee was arrested near her home at around 4 p.m. the previous day on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act and the National Public Officials Act. Earlier, the police had obtained and executed an arrest warrant from the court, noting that Lee had failed to comply with six summonses. For an arrested suspect, authorities must either request a detention warrant or release the individual within 48 hours of the arrest.
Separately, Lee has filed for a review of the legality of her arrest with the court. The hearing is scheduled for 3 p.m. on October 4 at the Seoul Southern District Court. This review process allows the court to determine whether the arrest was lawful and whether continued detention is necessary.
