Assemblyman Han Minsoo: "If innocent, she should simply explain herself"
"Acting with political objectives ahead of the next local elections"
With the arrest of former Korea Communications Commission Chairwoman Lee Jinsook, Assemblyman Han Minsoo of the Democratic Party of Korea pointed out that "there are political intentions and objectives" behind the case.

On October 3, during an appearance on SBS Radio's "Kim Taehyun's Political Show," Assemblyman Han stated, "She is merely a subject of investigation facing various charges," adding, "If she receives a summons, she should comply with the investigation, and if she is innocent, she should explain herself. Instead, she is acting to achieve political objectives, such as influencing the upcoming local elections."
The previous day, former Chairwoman Lee was arrested on charges including violations of the National Public Officials Act and the Public Official Election Act. The police reportedly decided to arrest her after she failed to comply with a summons for questioning scheduled for 2 p.m. on September 27.
The police believe that former Chairwoman Lee, who was suspended from her duties following the passage of an impeachment motion in August last year, violated the obligation of political neutrality for public officials by making certain remarks during appearances on conservative YouTube channels in September.
Upon arriving at Yeongdeungpo Police Station in handcuffs, former Chairwoman Lee said, "It wasn't enough to abolish the Korea Communications Commission, and now you're putting handcuffs on Lee Jinsook?" She continued in an agitated tone, asking, "Did Lee Jaemyung order this? Did Jung Cheongrae order this? Did the 'Gaeddal' order this?"
Regarding this, Assemblyman Han commented, "How could the Lee Jaemyung administration be establishing the Broadcasting and Media Communications Commission just to remove one person, Lee Jinsook? She seems to be suffering from delusions of grandeur."
He added, "Someone who refused to comply with a police summons is now being escorted in front of reporters, casually referring to the President by name as if using slander. Does this make any sense? She clearly has a target audience: the subscribers of the YouTube channels where she appeared."
Furthermore, Assemblyman Han urged former Chairwoman Lee, "Even now, you should actively cooperate with the investigation. If you are innocent, you will be released; if you are guilty, a warrant will be issued, and you will stand trial and be punished accordingly. Stop misleading the public with strange statements."
