Calm Response in Emergency Situation Leads to Citizen Rescue

At Donggureung Station on Line 8, operated by Guri Urban Corporation (President Yoo Donghyuk), station staff saved another passenger's life with swift cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and emergency measures. This marks the third citizen rescue case this year.

At around 9:23 p.m. on September 30, a passenger suddenly lost consciousness and collapsed on a train bound for Byeollae on Line 8. Upon receiving an emergency call from the control center, Deputy Station Manager Jidong Hyun and Employee Kim Yongho from Donggureung Station immediately rushed to the scene and, together with other passengers, moved the patient to the platform. They then performed CPR and chest compressions for about two minutes before handing the patient over to the Guri Fire Station paramedics, who transported the individual to the hospital. The patient regained consciousness during transport.

Deputy Station Manager Jidong Hyun stated, "Thanks to repeated training and education, I was able to respond calmly," and added, "I am especially grateful to the citizens of Guri who generously offered their assistance at the scene."

President Yoo Donghyuk emphasized, "Following the cases at Guri Station and Jangja Lake Park Station, our staff at Donggureung Station have once again saved a precious life through their swift response," and added, "Guri Urban Corporation will continue to prioritize citizen safety through ongoing safety education and practical training."

Meanwhile, Guri Urban Corporation regularly conducts CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) training sessions led by the Railway Safety Team at all three stations along the Guri section of Line 8, ensuring that every station staff member is able to respond professionally and promptly in emergency situations.
