On October 2, Korean Air and Asiana Airlines carried out a joint social contribution activity in celebration of Chuseok, reflecting on the meaning of the holiday.
That morning, the two airlines served Chuseok meals to approximately 600 elderly residents at the Senior Welfare Center cafeteria and daycare center in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. In collaboration with Korean Air C&D Service, which is responsible for in-flight meals, the event showcased the unique characteristics of the airlines.
About 40 employees from Korean Air and Asiana Airlines, along with 20 staff members from Korean Air C&D Service, participated in the volunteer activity, totaling around 60 people. The employees of both airlines carefully served nutritious Chuseok meals and assisted the elderly with their dining experience.

The food was prepared on-site by chefs from Korean Air C&D Service. The menu included a variety of dishes such as abalone seafood soup, beef and vegetable japchae, teriyaki eel, mung bean and pumpkin pancakes, and fruit salad, allowing the elderly to fully enjoy the festive atmosphere. After the meal, gift packages containing desserts such as songpyeon, sweet red bean bread, yakshik, and sikhye were presented.
A representative from Korean Air stated, "It is especially meaningful to celebrate a more abundant Chuseok by sharing with local residents ahead of the holiday," adding, "This year, the participation of Asiana Airlines employees added further significance to our social contribution efforts."
