Iksan City Recruiting Participants for the "Train to Iksan Mengryong"

Participation Fee: 99,000 Won Per Person
Limited to the First 200 Participants

Iksan City in North Jeolla Province is recruiting participants for the "2025 Train to Iksan Mengryong," which will operate on October 18.

According to the city on October 2, this train package follows previous themed train tours that received enthusiastic responses from tourists, such as the Garden Train, Chimaek Train, and Sweet Potato Vine Choir Train. This time, it has been planned as a train tourism product where participants can travel with their pets.

The special temporary tourist train, exclusively for passengers accompanied by pets and organized in collaboration with the Jeonbuk branch of Korail, will depart from Seoul Station at 6:59 a.m., stopping at Yeongdeungpo, Suwon, Cheonan, Jochiwon, and Seodaejeon, and will arrive at Iksan Station at 10:00 a.m.

Participants will visit attractions where they can enjoy the autumn atmosphere, including Dalbit Sori Arboretum, Isanghan Prison (a prison set), and the 19th Iksan FCI International Dog Show & Companion Animal Culture Festival.

In particular, a pet expert will accompany the trip, allowing participants to enjoy their journey with peace of mind. The tour is also linked with the International Dog Show, offering a special opportunity to experience both the trip and the festival at once.

The participation fee is 99,000 won per person, which includes round-trip train fare, a dedicated bus, lunch, and dinner. Registration is limited to the first 200 people (each may bring one dog, for a total of 200 dogs). Applications can be made through the travel agency's website, and further details are available by phone.

This year, the city was selected for the "Pet-Friendly Tourism City Development Project" by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization. It is promoting various pet-friendly initiatives and expects this trip to help publicize its "Pet Friend Iksan" vision and contribute to the spread of pet-accompanied tourism.

A city official stated, "The Mengryong Train has been designed as a pet-friendly healing trip that connects Iksan's nature and culture by rail. We will continue to expand various programs so that Iksan can become a city that attracts pets and their owners from all over the country."
