Yangju City Successfully Hosts the 2025 Military Family Day Event
The First Official Celebration Uniting the Military and Local Community
A Meaningful Occasion to Express Gratitude and Respect
Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province recently held the "2025 Military Family Day Celebration" at the Gyeonggi Textile Comprehensive Support Center, attended by over 400 people, under the theme "Noble Devotion, Great Strength." The event was a great success.

This was the first official "Military Family Day" celebration organized by Yangju City. The event was attended by key unit commanders, soldiers, military families, members of national defense and veterans’ organizations, families with a long tradition of military service, reserve officers from the Department of Military Science at Kyungdong University, and representatives from various social organizations. Together, they expressed their respect and gratitude for the dedication and sacrifice of military families.
The program featured a variety of events, including ▲awards for distinguished contributors, ▲a military song choir by children of military families, and ▲a commemorative musical performance. In particular, an interview video sharing the heartfelt stories of military families and the children’s choir singing military songs resonated deeply with the audience, leaving a lasting impression.
The congratulatory performance stage featured talented artists such as pianist Kim Gyuhui, vocalist Cha Yeoul, mezzo-soprano Jang Eun, tenor Koo Bonjin, and baritone Kwak Sanghun, who delivered a sophisticated yet popular performance that received an enthusiastic response from the audience.
In addition, the "Visiting Health Healing Doctors" booth operated by the Yangju City Public Health Center drew attention. It offered a variety of health measurement services and consultations, including cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease screenings, oral health, and a smoking cessation clinic, attracting significant interest from participants.
One attendee shared, "It was a meaningful time that allowed me to once again feel proud to be a military family member."
Kang Suhyun, mayor of Yangju City, stated, "Thanks to the sacrifice and dedication of our soldiers and their families, Korea today enjoys peace and prosperity," adding, "I will continue to do my utmost to foster mutual cooperation and coexistence with the military."
This "2025 Military Family Day Celebration" concluded as a meaningful occasion where the military and local community shared their gratitude and respect, reaffirming a sense of true unity.
Meanwhile, "Military Family Day" is designated as the fourth Friday of September each year under the Military Welfare Basic Act to raise public understanding and interest in the sacrifice and dedication of military families and to foster their pride. The national and local governments are required to promote various events and support programs in line with the purpose of this day.
