KNAGMA Announces Contest for Digital Healing Garden Space Model Proposals

The Korea National Arboretum and Garden Management Authority (KNAGMA) announced on October 2 that, in collaboration with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Dunamu, it will hold the "2025 Digital Healing Garden Space Model Proposal and Garden Healing Content Development Contest" until October 19.

This contest is designed to discover garden healing programs based on digital technology and to expand the effects of garden-based healing.

The digital healing garden is created using digital technology to establish a virtual healing garden in places where it is difficult to access gardens and plants due to spatial limitations, allowing individuals to experience recovery and psychological stability.

The contest is divided into two categories: "Space and Model Proposal," which seeks original digital healing garden spaces that combine technology and gardens, and "Content and Program Development," which focuses on developing garden healing content and programs based on digital technology.

Anyone interested in ICT technology development-including university (and graduate) students and professionals in fields such as IT, landscaping, and medicine-can participate in the contest.

Applications can be submitted through the KNAGMA website until October 19.

KNAGMA plans to select a total of six teams through document screening and presentation evaluations, taking into account visitor experience-focused proposals, creativity, and feasibility.

Shim Sangtaek, Chairman of KNAGMA, said, "I hope that the variety of specialized programs available in digital healing gardens will help realize a basic AI society enjoyed by all," adding, "We will strive to create an environment where everyone in need of garden healing can access and enjoy gardens beyond the constraints of time and space."
