On October 1, Uijeongbu City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Donggeun) held the "Future Value Sharing Plus+ Day in October 2025" event at the Book Cafe on the 2nd floor of the Uijeongbu Urban Education Foundation, with more than 120 citizens and staff in attendance.

This event was organized under the theme "The Golden Time to Decide the Future of Uijeongbu's Redevelopment and Reconstruction," providing an opportunity to share the city's vision and development strategies.
Lee Jingwoo, head of the Regeneration Policy Team and the keynote speaker, stated, "As we transition from a growth-oriented society to a shrinking one, Uijeongbu's core task is not just supplying housing, but creating an environment where young people want to settle." He emphasized, "The failure of the New Town project in 2012 led to weakened urban competitiveness and a vicious cycle of financial burdens. With young people now leaving for Seoul and Yangju, this is truly the golden time to respond."
He went on to introduce the "2035 Uijeongbu Urban Residential Environment Improvement Master Plan 3+1" strategy, outlining specific measures such as easing the ratio of public contributions, introducing new allowable floor area ratios, enhancing business feasibility by upgrading semi-residential zones near transit stations, and shortening project periods through the adoption of a fast-track system.
Mayor Kim Donggeun remarked, "The Urban Residential Environment Improvement Master Plan is not simply about building new houses; it marks the beginning of innovation that will transform the entire city. We will work together with citizens to develop strategies to make Uijeongbu a city where future generations want to live."
He also added, "October is the season of harvest and the month of Chuseok, a holiday spent with family, so I hope all citizens enjoy a time of abundance and happiness. In particular, the '54th Citizens' Day Commemorative Ceremony' to be held on October 11 at the City Hall lawn under the theme of 'A Shining Awards Ceremony and Autumn Picnic' will be a great opportunity for many citizens to come together and create joyful memories."

Meanwhile, during the pre-event performance, master of Korean traditional music Kang Sehee delivered a moving rendition of "Love Song" from the pansori Chunhyangga in a gayageum byeongchang style, and awards were presented to 41 exemplary citizens and others.
