Hyun Seungbeom, a senior student in the Department of Employment Service Policy at Korea University of Technology and Education, published a paper as the first author in Volume 35, Issue 3 of the KCI-indexed journal Journal of Educational Innovation Research.
A senior university student has been listed as the first author of a paper published in a KCI-indexed journal. Hyun Seungbeom, a senior in the Department of Employment Service Policy at Korea University of Technology and Education, was recognized for his academic achievement with research on youth employment preparation.
According to Korea University of Technology and Education on October 1, Hyun's paper, "A Qualitative Meta-Summary of Young Adults' Long-Term Job Preparation Experiences: Focusing on the Hope-Centered Career Development Model," was published in Volume 35, Issue 3 of the Journal of Educational Innovation Research on September 30.
This paper received high praise for synthesizing, through qualitative research, the difficulties and overcoming experiences of young people during long-term job preparation, and for identifying the hope recovery mechanism from the perspective of the Hope-Centered Career Development Model.
Hyun Seungbeom stated, "As I researched youth employment issues ahead of graduation, I was able to immerse myself even more in the topic. When I reread the paper, it feels like advice to myself. I want to send a message of encouragement to all students preparing for employment."
Professor Lee Hyeeun, Hyun's academic advisor, emphasized, "It is very rare for an undergraduate student to be listed as the first author of a KCI-indexed paper in the social sciences. This case demonstrates that students are fully capable of producing evidence-based research outcomes."
Meanwhile, the Department of Employment Service Policy at Korea University of Technology and Education was established in 2022 as the nation's only specialized department in employment services, enabling students to obtain the Level 1 Vocational Counselor Certificate. This certificate provides additional points for the Ministry of Employment and Labor civil service exam and public institution recruitment.
