The Muan County Council in South Jeolla Province operated an educational program for children, the future generation, allowing them to experience the role of local councils and the values of democracy. On October 1, the council invited 31 fifth and sixth-grade students from Samhyangdong Elementary School to participate in a council visit and tour program.
The event, held in the main chamber on the third floor, included a meeting with council members, a tour of the council facilities, and the viewing of a promotional video. In particular, through an interview and Q&A session with Kim Bongseong, Chair of the Administrative, Culture, and Welfare Committee, students were able to resolve their questions about legislative activities and gain vivid, firsthand learning experiences.
After the tour, commemorative gifts were presented to the students, and a group photo was taken to mark the meaningful day.
Kim Bongseong stated, "I hope today’s tour serves as an opportunity for students to understand the role of the council and the importance of democracy," adding, "We will continue to create various opportunities for experience and education, fostering an open council that engages with future generations."
