Wanju County Launches Public Delivery App "Meokkebi"

"Easing the Delivery Fee Burden for Small Business Owners"

Wanju County in North Jeolla Province officially launched the public delivery app "Meokkebi" on October 1, implementing a fair commission policy to reduce the delivery fee burden on small business owners.

The county signed a public-private partnership agreement with the operator of Meokkebi on July 8 and, after a period of preparation, proceeded with this official launch.

"Meokkebi" is a public delivery app currently operated by many local governments nationwide. It is considered a practical alternative for small business owners compared to private delivery apps, offering a 1.5% order brokerage fee (excluding VAT), no entry or advertising fees, and integration with local currency.

To celebrate the official launch, new users will receive a 3,000 won discount coupon while the budget lasts. In addition, a special event offers a 10,000 won coupon for those who make two immediate payments of at least 20,000 won each. Users can also use livelihood recovery consumption coupons.

To participate in the event, users can download "Meokkebi" from the Play Store or App Store, sign up as a member, and place a delivery order. Small business owners who wish to join can apply for registration on the "Meokkebi Sajangnim" website or contact customer service for inquiries.

Going forward, the county plans to link "Meokkebi" with the Wanju Love Gift Certificate and the local online platform "Wanju Mall," so that consumers can enjoy reasonable prices and convenient services, while small business owners and self-employed individuals can benefit from increased sales.

County Governor Yoo Heetae stated, "Meokkebi is a win-win platform that can ease the high commission burden of private delivery apps and revitalize the local economy," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that this public delivery app, which leads a healthy commission culture, becomes firmly established."
