Top 20 Korn Ferry Tour Players Announced
Sixth in Points Secures PGA Tour Card
One Win and Two Runner-Up Finishes This Year
Sung Hyun Kim will return to the PGA Tour after two years.
The PGA Korn Ferry (second-tier) Tour announced on September 30 (local time) that "Sung Hyun Kim, who is ranked sixth in points, has secured a spot on the 2026 PGA Tour, which is awarded to the top 20 players." Kim claimed his first Korn Ferry Tour victory at the AdventHealth Championship in May, and with two runner-up finishes at the Bahamas Great Exuma Classic in January and the Visa Argentina Open in March, as well as five top-10 finishes overall, he had already secured his promotion to the PGA Tour early on.
Sung Hyun Kim made his professional debut at the age of 19 in December 2017. After winning the Korea Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA) Championship in 2020 and the Japan PGA Championship in 2021, he advanced to the Korn Ferry Tour in 2022. He immediately moved up to the PGA Tour in 2023, but after failing to achieve strong results, he was relegated back to the Korn Ferry Tour this year. Now, after two years, he has successfully returned to the PGA Tour.
This year, the top 20 players on the final Korn Ferry Tour points list will earn eligibility to compete in the 2026 PGA Tour. The player ranked first will also receive invitations to The Players Championship and the US Open next year. Currently, Johnny Keefer (USA) leads with 2,207 points. The 2025 Korn Ferry Tour will continue on October 2 with the third playoff event, the Compliance Solutions Championship.
