Talent Invitation Event Held at Hai Phong Production Subsidiary
Science and Engineering Students and Faculty from Major Local Universities Attend
New Plant in Vietnam Recently Expanded and Now Fully Operational
LG Innotek announced on October 1 that it held the "Optics Tech Conference" (Optecon), a talent invitation event in the field of optical research and development (R&D), at its production subsidiary in Hai Phong, Vietnam. This marks the first time the Optecon event has been held at an overseas subsidiary, and key executives attended in person.
Optecon is an annual event hosted by LG Innotek since 2023 to invite talent in the field of optical R&D. It was planned to proactively secure outstanding individuals who can contribute to the advancement of optical technology and the development of new technologies. An LG Innotek representative explained, "We decided to hold this event locally in Vietnam to actively recruit top R&D talent in the country and further strengthen our optical solutions business capabilities following the completion of our new plant in Vietnam."
More than 80 science and engineering students and faculty members from major universities in central and northern Vietnam, including Vietnam National University (VNU), Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), Danang University, and Hue University, participated in the event. LG Innotek executives, such as Chief Technology Officer Seungwon Noh and Chief Human Resources Officer Donghun Lee, also introduced the company’s optical solutions technology competitiveness, vision, and organizational culture on-site in Vietnam.

The event also featured sessions where local engineers working at the Vietnam subsidiary shared their projects and success stories, facilitating communication with the invited talents. Park Seunghan, Honorary Professor and former Vice President for Research at Yonsei University (28th President of the Optical Society of Korea), attended as a guest speaker and presented trends and future prospects in optical technology.
Do Dinh Hung, a team leader who joined the Vietnam subsidiary in 2018, said, "It is rare to have the opportunity to build a career as a developer in the optical solutions field at a global top company here in Vietnam," adding, "I have grown significantly as I have worked closely with my colleagues to find ways to solidify LG Innotek’s position as the number one global camera module business and to take on new challenges."
Nguyen Phuong An, a third-year student at Hanoi University of Science and Technology who participated in the event, said, "It was very meaningful to learn about the flow of technology through various experts in the optical field," and added, "Through lectures, product exhibitions, and a tour of the research center, I was able to experience LG Innotek’s technological capabilities and organizational culture firsthand, and it helped me to concretely envision my career path within the company."

LG Innotek recently completed the expansion of its new V3 plant in Hai Phong, Vietnam, with a total floor area of 150,000 square meters (approximately 45,000 pyeong), and has begun full-scale operations. With the completion of the V3 plant, the production capacity of the Vietnam subsidiary has more than doubled compared to before. LG Innotek is pursuing a dual production base strategy, internalizing all processes from optical product development to manufacturing not only in Korea but also in Vietnam. Through this, the company aims to accelerate the enhancement of cost competitiveness in its optical solutions business.
Chief Human Resources Officer Donghun Lee stated, "Starting with Vietnam, we plan to expand locally customized recruitment programs to other overseas subsidiaries as well," adding, "Through various innovative recruitment activities to secure outstanding talent for future growth, LG Innotek will strengthen its global competitiveness and continuously create differentiated customer value."
