The paid membership program Naver Plus Membership will now include benefits from Uber One, the paid membership of Uber Taxi. Subscribers to Naver Plus Membership will be able to enjoy benefits such as earning up to 10% back on taxi fares at no additional cost.

On October 1, Naver announced that it has formed a strategic partnership with the global taxi-hailing platform Uber Taxi and will link Uber One benefits to the Naver Plus Membership.

As a result, from September 30, Naver Plus Membership users have been able to use Uber One, Uber Taxi’s paid membership program, at no extra charge. Uber One is a subscription-based membership that Uber Taxi launched domestically in early September.

Naver Plus Membership users will also receive a one-time promotional benefit worth up to 10,000 won, which can be used for Uber Taxi rides.

The Uber One benefit of earning up to 10% back on fares, which can be used for future rides, will also apply. For Uber Taxi’s affiliated products-Uber Taxi, Speed Call, Uber Black, and General Taxi XL-10% of the fare will be credited. For General Taxi, Premium Taxi, and Green products, 5% of the fare will be credited. Users will also receive priority allocation of drivers with high ratings.

Uber One benefits are available as a lifestyle perk for all Naver Plus Membership users. After selecting Uber in the My Membership section and registering for Uber One once in the linked Uber App, users can enjoy exclusive Uber One membership benefits for one year. Those who are not already Uber Taxi members will need to sign up for membership.

With this partnership with Uber Taxi, Naver Plus Membership has expanded its offerings to include mobility benefits, in addition to online video services (OTT) and online grocery shopping. Naver plans to further expand its “regular customer ecosystem” by increasing collaborations with brands that have high user loyalty.

Jung Hanna, leader of Naver Membership, stated, “Naver has enhanced the perceived value of membership benefits by providing user-friendly perks that span both online and offline,” adding, “We will continue to expand our range of partnership services based on collaborations with major brands such as Netflix, Kurly, and Uber Taxi, in order to build a loyal customer base.”

Meanwhile, Naver Plus Membership is available for a monthly subscription fee of 4,900 won (3,900 won per month with an annual plan) and offers benefits such as: up to 5% back in Naver Pay points for shopping and reservation payments, a monthly choice of one content service (Netflix, PC Game Pass, or Naver Webtoon/Series), 80GB of MyBox storage, and 10 Naver Webtoon cookies.
