This facility was built through a donation-in-kind arrangement by the Yongin Dongcheon District 3 Urban Development Project Association during the apartment construction project. Construction began in March 2021 and has now been completed.
The facility consists of two basement levels and four above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 2,251 square meters. Inside, there is a media zone, study zone, play zone, band room, dance practice room, and a multipurpose auditorium. Notably, it is the first youth culture house in the region to be equipped with a kitchen, supporting cooking and hands-on activities for young people. The facility will be operated by the Yongin City Youth Future Foundation.
More than 250 people attended the opening ceremony, including Mayor Lee Sangil of Yongin, Jo Youngmin, Superintendent of the Yongin Office of Education, local school principals, city council members, youth, and community residents.
In his commemorative speech, Mayor Lee stated, "The Dongcheon Youth Culture House is an outstanding youth cultural space that stands out anywhere in the country," and added, "I hope that young people will nurture their wonderful dreams, grow healthy, and develop into outstanding individuals in this space."
