Profit Sharing Through Fractional IP Investment
Participation from 37 Production Companies
On September 30, K-Wave Media (KWM) announced its plans to develop a platform for the tokenization of entertainment assets and revealed that it had secured a strategic investment of 1 million dollars (approximately 1.4 billion won) from Galaxy Digital.
This platform will allow fans and investors to participate in entertainment assets such as films, concerts, and intellectual property (IP) through fractional investment, enabling them to share in the profits. The system will utilize smart contract technology to automatically distribute royalties to creators, investors, and rights holders.
Thirty-seven major domestic content producers and IP holders have already confirmed their participation and signed business agreements. The industry has shown confidence in this new content finance model even before the official launch of the platform.
In particular, Galaxy Digital, which has served as a strategic advisor to KWM, has acquired a stake through this investment and also received warrants granting the right to purchase additional shares.
KWM plans to revolutionize the way entertainment projects are financed and to offer a new channel for fans to directly engage with stars and creative works. The company also intends to expand its 'Bitcoin Treasury' strategy by supporting Bitcoin as a means of payment and investment.
A KWM representative stated, "We aim to lead the entertainment finance market by combining the global influence of K-media, the institutional finance of the United States, and Web3 innovation."
